Government MWCD Paid Internship Programme: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has commenced the application process for its 2026 internship programme, encouraging women from non-Tier-I cities and rural areas across the nation to submit their applications for the forthcoming February-March cycle. As per a recent announcement from the ministry, the application period is set from December 1 to December 10, 2025.
This two-month internship, referred to as the WCD Internship, is designed to provide selected candidates with practical experience related to the ministry’s current schemes, policies, and field operations. Interns may be tasked with pilot projects or micro-studies associated with various programmes under the ministry
Age Limit
This initiative is available to women aged between 21 and 40 years who are students, research scholars, educators, or social activists. The ministry has clarified that only those applicants who reside in non-Tier-I cities or rural areas are eligible for this cycle.
Monthly Stipend
Candidates chosen for the programme will be granted a monthly stipend of Rs.20,000, in addition to the reimbursement of travel costs. Accommodation in a hostel in Delhi will also be made available during the internship.
The ministry has further clarified that individuals selected for the February-March 2026 term will be ineligible to apply for any subsequent cycles of the programme.
Applications must be submitted online via the official MWCD internship portal, wcd.intern.nic.in, before the deadline of December 10th.
