Students who wish to pursue higher education in Japan have the opportunity to apply for the fully funded Yokohama National University MEXT Scholarship 2026. This scholarship is provided by the Japanese Government (MEXT) for students aiming to undertake Master’s and PhD programs at one of Japan’s premier research universities. It will cover a master’s degree lasting two years and a PhD degree lasting three years.
To be eligible for the scholarship program, candidates must submit an English Proficiency Certificate from their previous institution. There is no requirement to submit IELTS or GRE scores.

The scholarship will cover the following expenses of the candidate:
