The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Master of Science (MSc) programme in Data Science and Analytics (DSA) through its Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode. This programme is designed to equip learners with computational and statistical skills necessary for solving data-driven problems.

The M.Sc. (Data Science and Analytics) programme aims to prepare graduate students for fruitful careers in both the software industry and academia.

The programme’s objectives are as follows:

  1. To establish a robust foundation in statistical and computational methods for data analysis.
  2. To provide the skills required to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret large and complex datasets.
  3. To implement data science techniques to address real-world challenges across various fields, including business, healthcare, social sciences, and engineering.
  4. To prepare individuals for careers in data science and analytics.

Eligibility for admission requires a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years duration from a recognized University or Institution.

Programme Duration:

The minimum duration is 24 months, while the maximum duration is 48 months. The fee is Rs.13,000.00 per semester, excluding registration and development fees. Please note that examination fees are not included in the fee structure and will be determined by the University.
