The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to administer the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026 Session 1 starting tomorrow, January 21, 2026. The examinations will take place on January 21, 22, 23, and January 24, 2026, utilizing a computer-based format. Candidates are required to bring their downloaded admit card, two passport-sized photographs, and a valid photo identification to participate in the exam.

The marking scheme for the JEE Mains Exam is outlined below.

Marking scheme for Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics

Section A

This section comprises 20 questions for each subject.

Each question presents four options, with only one being the correct answer.

Candidates are encouraged to perform calculations using the constants provided (if any) within the questions.

The evaluation of each question will follow the marking scheme detailed below.

Section B

This section comprises five questions pertaining to each subject, and all must be attempted.

The responses for this section should be provided as numerical values.

For each question, please input the correct integer value of the answer by utilizing the mouse and the onscreen virtual numeric keypad in the designated area for answer entry.

The evaluation of each question will follow the marking scheme outlined below.

Aptitude test

Drawing test

This section includes two questions.

Each question is worth the same number of marks.

Both questions must be attempted.

The questions should be answered in the designated space on the drawing sheet.

No additional drawing sheets will be provided.

All candidates are encouraged to bring all necessary materials for drawing and graphic work (such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, geometry boxes, etc.).

Watercolor, poster color, and acrylic paints are prohibited and should not be brought into the Examination Hall.

Candidates are urged to produce neat and tidy drawings.

Candidates must hand in the drawing sheet to the invigilator prior to exiting the exam hall.

Candidates are prohibited from writing their roll number, name, center address, examination location, or making any special marks in any section of the test booklet.

Planning based Objective type questions 

This section comprises 25 questions.

Each question presents four options. Only one of these four options is the most suitable or correct answer.
