On Tuesday evening, Mumbai University announced a new schedule for the Winter Examinations 2025, necessitated by the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad elections. This marks the second occasion on which the examinations have been rescheduled. Previously, the exams were delayed due to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections and have now been postponed once more because of the Zilla Parishad elections.
In an official circular released on January 20, the university communicated: “The Heads of University Departments, Director, Thane and Kalyan Sub Centres, the Director (CDOE), and the Principals of all affiliated colleges across all faculties are hereby notified that the Winter 2025 examinations, which were postponed due to Municipal Corporation elections, have been further revised due to the Zilla Parishad elections.”
Additionally, Mumbai University informed both students and staff that the examinations initially planned for mid-January have been rescheduled according to the new dates.

Moreover, The examinations that were initially set for February 7, 2026, have been rescheduled to February 21, 2026, owing to the Zilla Parishad elections. The university has confirmed that the timing of the examinations will stay the same as indicated in the original timetable.
University departments, college principals, and relevant authorities have been instructed to notify students and staff as soon as possible regarding the updated examination dates.
