CBSE Board Exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted a live webcast today to elucidate the procedures for the Board Examinations 2026, emphasizing the guidelines and the newly implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 assessments. The session was attended by principals, educators, and stakeholders from various regions of the country.

Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examinations, provided an in-depth discussion regarding the administration of Class 10 and 12 examinations. He detailed the evaluation process, the advantages of digital assessment, the introduction of two board exams for Class 10, and the roles of parents during the examination period.

“This examination will assess our knowledge, preparedness, responsiveness, and decision-making. Hence, it is imperative that everyone is thoroughly informed about the regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs),” stated Dr. Bhardwaj.

He underscored CBSE’s reform-oriented strategy, asserting, “Smart exam, smarter evaluation, naye Bharat ki pahchaan,” which highlights technology-driven processes, objective assessment methodologies, and efficient coordination to facilitate seamless examination management.

Key Instructions For Exam Centres

The examination controller provided directives for examination centres:

  • Mathematics (041 and 241) and Hindi A & B question papers must be packaged separately for Classes 10 and 12.
  • Proper seating arrangements must be rigorously enforced.
  • Precise distribution of question papers is essential to prevent discrepancies.
  • No subject changes are permitted at the centre under any circumstances.

Addressing Social Media And Misinformation

Dr. Bhardwaj outlined CBSE’s approach to combat misinformation and rumors during examinations. Key points include:

  • Avoid believing or disseminating unverified information, particularly concerning question paper leaks.
  • Fake videos circulating on platforms such as YouTube have been identified.
  • Meetings have been conducted with heads of social media platforms to address misinformation.
  • CBSE will monitor suspicious links and provide verified updates on its official website.
  • First Information Reports (FIRs) will be filed for misinformation; cyber police will oversee the situation.

Monitoring And Preparation For Evaluation

The board will oversee the evaluators’ speed, attendance, errors, and participation at each school to guarantee consistency. Preparatory actions consist of:

  • A discussion regarding marking schemes prior to evaluation.
  • Mock evaluations for practice and standardization.
  • Practical familiarization with the digital platform.

Despite the introduction of these new digital processes, the fundamental duties of evaluators remain the same. With the elimination of totaling and administrative responsibilities, teachers can concentrate on precise marking with diminished stress.

Important Notice For Schools

Dr. Bhardwaj has requested that schools direct their inquiries concerning examinations to info.cbseexam@cbseshiksha.in by 5 PM tomorrow. The Board will gather these inquiries, create FAQs, and distribute them to schools.
