CBSE Direct Recruitment 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the Tier-1 examination of the Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ 2026) aimed at filling various Group A, B, and C positions. The examination is set to take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026.

As per the public notice released on December 30, 2025, the Tier-1 examination for positions such as Assistant Secretary, Assistant Professor, and Assistant Director (Academics, Training and Skill Education), Accounts Officer, and Junior Translation Officer will occur on January 31, 2026. This examination will be divided into two sessions: Session I will run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am for a common paper applicable to multiple posts, while Session II will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm specifically for the Superintendent position.

The Tier-I examination for the Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant roles is scheduled for February 1, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. CBSE has indicated that information regarding the examination center, exam city, and admit card will be accessible through the respective application logins of the candidates at an appropriate time. Previously, CBSE had provided a two-day edit window for candidates who submitted applications for DRQ 2026. During this period, applicants were permitted to amend or update their details in the online application forms on December 29 and 30, 2025, until 11:59 pm, following the closure of the application process on December 27.

Through DRQ 2026, CBSE intends to address several vacancies across Group A, B, and C positions, including Assistant Secretary, Assistant Professor, Assistant Director, Accounts Officer, Superintendent, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Accountant, and Junior Assistant. The number of vacancies announced is provisional and subject to change. Selected candidates may be assigned to any CBSE office throughout the country. CBSE conducts the recruitment process based on an all-India competitive examination framework.
