The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to commence its capacity-building programmes for Skill Education, which will be implemented in Classes 6 to 8 starting from February 4, 2026. The Skill Education Division of the Board will manage these programmes and equip school leaders and teachers with effective strategies to incorporate skill-based learning into their classrooms.
CBSE has emphasized the significance of such initiatives in improving the overall quality of education and ensuring that Skill Education is a meaningful and essential part of the middle school curriculum. Workshops will be conducted at various CBSE-affiliated schools selected to serve as host institutions. This month-long programme will take place throughout February across multiple locations, including Faridabad, New Delhi, Noida, Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru, and other cities.
The training will adopt an activity-based framework that allows teachers, vice-principals, and principals to engage actively in training sessions scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The focus of the training will be on practical classroom applications, especially regarding the utilization of NCERT Kaushal Bodh textbooks, aimed at fostering experiential learning and interdisciplinary skill enhancement among students.
CBSE has categorized these programs as complimentary events; however, participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Schools are advised to inform host institutions in advance about their student requirements to ensure suitable seat allocations, material accessibility, and effective event management. Participants will be trained to become master trainers who will disseminate Skill Education methodologies across their schools and regions.
This initiative reflects CBSE’s continuous commitment to Skill Education, which is a vital element of its academic framework. The Board intends to improve learning outcomes for middle school students through its investment in teacher training and curriculum development, which will aid in aligning educational policies with their practical application in classrooms.
