The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decreased the number of examination cities for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) 2026. The number of exam cities has been lowered from 312 to 292. The CUET PG 2026 examination will take place in 272 cities within India and 16 cities abroad. Despite the alterations to the exam cities, the NTA has not altered the exam pattern or the number of subjects. The CUET PG will be administered for 157 subjects, with each paper lasting 90 minutes.

Registrations for the examination are currently open and will close on January 14, 2026. Candidates may apply online at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg or nta.ac.in. The application correction period will be available from January 18 to 20, 2026, and the examination is set to occur in March 2026.

Successfully qualifying for the CUET PG enables candidates to enroll in postgraduate programs at Central, State, private, and Deemed Universities, as well as other participating institutions for the academic session of 2026-27.

Eligibility

Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, or who are in their final year of study in 2026, are eligible to apply for the postgraduate program.

There is no age restriction for applying to the examination; however, candidates must confirm the specific requirements of the universities before submitting their applications.
