The admission process for entry-level classes, including Nursery, KG, and Class 1 in Delhi schools, will officially begin on December 4, 2025. Admission forms for these classes will be accessible from this date. Parents are required to submit the application forms by December 27, 2025. Those seeking admission for their children should regularly check the updates on the respective school websites. It is essential to verify the admission criteria, point allocation, and form availability prior to applying to any school.
Schools must upload the details of all applicants by January 9, 2026.
The points assigned to each child under the points system will be disclosed by January 16, 2026.
The initial list of selected candidates will be published on January 23, 2026.
Parents may raise inquiries concerning point allocation from January 24 to February 3, 2026.
The second list of candidates will be released on February 9, 2026.
The admission process will conclude on March 19, 2026.
Age criteria
To be eligible for admission for the 2026-27 academic session, a child must be at least three years old for nursery, four years old for KG, and five years old for class 1 as of March 31, 2026. Schools may allow an age relaxation of up to one month at the discretion of the head of the school.
The Department of Education (DoE) previously indicated that children who are admitted to Nursery in the 2025–26 session will automatically progress to KG in the 2026–27 session, while those in KG during 2025–26 will advance to Class 1. Consequently, admissions for Nursery for the 2026–27 session will be strictly limited to children who have reached the age of three but have not yet turned four by March 31, 2026.

The documents listed below will be necessary for the admission process:
- Ration Card or Smart Card issued in the name of the parents
- Domicile certificate, which can be in the name of either the child or the parents
- Voter ID (EPIC) belonging to one of the parents
- An electricity bill, MTNL telephone bill, water bill, or passport that includes the name of either the parent or the child.
- Aadhaar Card or UID card issued in the name of one of the parents.
