India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Notification is expected to be released on 20th January 2026. The Department of Posts, India Post, is likely to announce the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment Notification for more than 28,000 positions, which include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks across various Postal Circles in India.
Eligible Indian citizens may submit their applications online via the India Post GDS Online Portal at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The selection process will be based on a merit list created from 10th standard marks, with no examination or interview necessary.
Step 2: Register using your mobile number or email (One-Time Registration is valid for the entire calendar year).
Step 3: Complete the application form, choose your Postal Circle/Division, and ensure all details are entered accurately.
Step 4: Upload your Photo, Signature, 10th Certificate, and any other necessary documents as specified.
Step 5: Make the payment online (if applicable) and submit your application. Remember to take a printout.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: A pass certificate for the Secondary School Examination (10th Class) with Mathematics and English (either compulsory or elective) from a recognized Board.
Local Language: Mandatory proficiency in the local language of the relevant Postal Circle (studied until the 10th standard).
Other Requirements: Fundamental computer skills, knowledge of cycling, and sufficient means of livelihood.
Candidates who are awaiting results are not eligible.
