Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Recruitment 2025
The Indian Air Force (IAF), operating under the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India, is inviting online applications from qualified Indian citizens, both men and women, for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch as well as in the Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches / NCC Special Entry via the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) – 01/2026. This is an opportunity for graduates to become Flying Officers and serve the nation, with courses starting in January 2027. The IAF AFCAT Online Application form will be accessible from 17th November 2025 until 14th December 2025. The IAF AFCAT Entry 2026 Examination is set to take place on 31st January 2026. How to Apply:
The IAF Online Registration will be conducted via the official AFCAT CDAC website. Here’s how the IAF AFCAT Online Registration Process works:-
Step 1: Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online at the AFCAT CDAC official website (afcat.edcil.co.in) starting from 17th November 2025.
Step 2: Candidates need to fill in their basic, communication, and qualification details. Don’t forget to upload a recent photograph, signature, and thumb impression, among other things.
Step 3: If applicable, pay the application fee using the online payment gateway. Make sure to submit your application form by 14/12/2025 before 11:30 PM.
Eligibility Criteria:
AFCAT Entry (Flying Branch): A graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum duration of three years and at least 60% marks (OR) a B.E. / B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% marks (OR) candidates who have successfully completed Section A & B examinations of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
AFCAT Entry (Ground Duty Technical Branch): Completion of 10+2 with Physics and Maths followed by a 4-year degree or postgraduate qualification in Engineering / Technology.
AFCAT Entry (Ground Duty Non-Technical Branches): For Administration and Logistics – a degree in any discipline; for Accounts – a B.Com degree; for Education – an MBA / MCA or an MA / M.Sc. degree.
NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch): Completion of 10+2 with Physics and Maths along with graduates holding a minimum three-year degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent OR a B.E. / B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Meteorology: Successful completion of 10+2 and a postgraduate degree in any science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks across all papers.
Age Limit:
Flying Branch and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2027. i.e. born between 02 January 2003 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive)
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years as on 1st January 2027. i.e. born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive)
