The Indian Army is preparing to launch applications for a new opportunity aimed at young NCC candidates aspiring to become officers. The online registration for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course will commence on February 13, 2026, with the course itself scheduled to start in October 2026.
A total of 76 vacancies have been announced for unmarried male and female candidates, which includes the wards of battle casualties of Army personnel. Eligible candidates who possess an NCC ‘C’ Certificate and fulfill the necessary educational qualifications will be able to apply via the official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in. There will be no written examination for this entry; candidates will be shortlisted directly for subsequent stages. Interested applicants must ensure that they submit their applications before the deadline of March 16, 2026.
The online application process will begin on February 13, 2026, and will remain open until March 16, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration well ahead of the deadline, rather than waiting until the last moment.
Out of the total 76 vacancies, 63 are allocated for NCC male candidates, while 5 are designated for NCC female candidates. Additionally, seven positions are reserved for male dependents of martyred soldiers and one position for a female dependent.
Eligibility and Age Limit
Candidates must be aged between 19 and 25 years as of July 1, 2026. They should have been born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2007, inclusive.
Applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university, achieving a minimum of 50 percent marks. Final year students may also apply if they have secured at least 50 percent marks in the first two or three years of their degree program.
Selection and Application Process
There will be no written examination for this admission process. Applications will be shortlisted, and those selected will be invited to attend a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. Candidates who pass the SSB interview will then undergo a medical examination. The final merit list will be compiled based on their performance in the SSB and their medical fitness.
