IP University To Use CUET As Secondary Method For Admission To B.Tech

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will utilize CUET as a secondary method for B.Tech admissions in the forthcoming academic year. This information was disclosed by IP University through an official notification. The university officials have recommended that students take the CUET exam, as the remaining B.Tech seats will be allocated via CUET after the JEE Main-1 scores have been exhausted.

An official notification from IP University stated, “All stakeholders are hereby notified that the Director (Higher Education), Government of NCT of Delhi, Directorate of Higher Education, Delhi, through Order No. F. No. DHE 4(61)/2010-11/Pt. File/Vol.1/5645-55 dated 29.10.2025, has communicated the approval of the Lt. Governor, National Capital Territory of Delhi, for the adoption of CUET as a secondary admission channel for the B.Tech Programme, Programme Code 131, following the exhaustion of the merit list from the JEE Main-I examination starting from the Academic Year 2025-26.”

“Consequently, it is emphasized that students intending to enroll in the B.Tech Programme offered by GGSIP University must also apply and participate in the CUET examination. As previously mentioned, the remaining seats after the JEE Main-I scores are exhausted will be filled based on the merit/score of CUET,” the notification further elaborated.

Admissions for the BTech programme will be determined by the scores from both JEE Mains and CUET.

GGSIPU has commenced admissions for the academic session 2026-27 and has announced the launch of 24 new academic programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The application process for admission will begin on February 2, 2026.

The 24 newly introduced programmes are designed to align with emerging and industry-relevant fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, law, medicine, design, and special education. Additionally, GGSIPU has incorporated nine new affiliated colleges into its network and has announced the establishment of an offshore campus in Guyana.
