Eligibility:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited University.
• Shorthand proficiency: 80 words per minute.
• Typing proficiency: 40 words per minute.
• Sufficient understanding of Computer Applications.

Age Limit:

• Age Limit: 21-32 Years (as on 04/09/2025, born between 05.09.1993 and 03.09.2004).
• Relaxations: SC/ST/SEBC/Women: 5 years; PwD (40–50% disability): 10 years; PwD + SC/ST/SEBC: 15 years; Ex-Servicemen: as per Govt. rules.

Salary:

• Pay Scale: Rs.25,500 – Rs.81,100/- (Level-7, ORSP Rules 2017) with usual DA and allowances.

Selection Process:

Eligible candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process for the Junior Stenographer position at the Orissa High Court through the following methods:-

• English Qualifying Test – 100 Marks (1½ hours): Essay (20), Translation from Odia to English (20), Re-translation from English to Odia (20), Grammar (40). Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for general, 30% for SC/ST.
•  Computer Application Test – 100 Marks (Qualifying, total duration 1 hour): Theory: 50 (30 minutes), Practical: 50 (30 minutes). A score of 50% is required to qualify.
•  Skill Test (Shorthand & Typing) – 100 Marks: Dictation of 400 words at 80 wpm, Transcription at 40 wpm (10 minutes). A maximum of 10% errors is permitted.
• The final merit list will be determined based on the results of the Skill Test.
