TN Govt Guest Lecturer Recruitment 2026: The government of Tamil Nadu has announced the opening of applications for 426 guest lecturer roles in Government Arts and Science Colleges throughout the state. As per a notification released by Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhian, this recruitment is being conducted under the directives of Chief Minister M K Stalin. The minister noted that over 15,000 additional seats and various new courses have been introduced for the academic year 2025-26.

In accordance with a government order, 37 new Government Arts and Science Colleges have been established to cater to the higher education requirements of underprivileged students.

Given that permanent recruitment to fill vacant teaching positions is a lengthy process, and to prevent any disruption to academic activities, the Chief Minister has instructed the temporary appointment of guest lecturers. Following this directive, advertisements were previously issued for 574 positions and later for an additional 823 positions. To date, 1,277 guest lecturers have been appointed on a temporary basis.

Lecturer Positions Details

A further order has now been issued for the temporary appointment of 306 guest lecturers for Tamil and English language courses. Including 120 previously announced but unfilled positions, a total of 426 temporary guest lecturer roles across 29 subjects will be filled in this current phase.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates are invited to register and submit their applications via the official website from February 4 to February 9.

The selection of guest lecturers will be conducted in accordance with the norms set by the Tamil Nadu government, based on educational qualifications and scores from interview assessments.
