AFMS Recruitment 2025: Online Application form 225 Medical Officer Positions, Notification

The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) will publish an employment notification for the recruitment of Short Service Commission (SSC) Medical Officers in the Employment News Paper dated 13 September 2025. This notification pertains to Military Doctor Positions available for MBBS Indian Citizens seeking SSC Officer roles. Applications are being accepted online for the position of Short Service Commission Medical Officer in AFMS from Indian citizens, regardless of gender, who have successfully completed their final MBBS examination within a maximum of two attempts and have taken the NEET PG Entrance Examination. The online registration process for the AFMS Medical Officer 2025-26 will commence on 13th September and will conclude on 3rd October 2025.

Eligibility:

• An MBBS degree is required.
• Permanent registration with any State Medical Council, MCI, or NMC is necessary.
• Candidates holding a recognized PG Degree or Diploma from State Medical Council, MCI, NBE, or NMC are also qualified.
• The internship must be finished by 31/03/2025.
• Candidates must have passed the final MBBS examination in no more than two attempts and must have taken the NEET PG exam.

Age Limit:

• Maximum 30 years for those with MBBS or PG Diploma (as on 31/12/2025).
• Maximum 35 years for those with PG Degree (as on 31/12/2025).

Salary:

• Rank of Captain (or equivalent in Navy/Air Force) at Level 10B of Defence Pay Matrix.
• Basic Pay Rs.61,300 + Military Service Pay Rs.15,500 + House Rent Allowance (depending on city class X/Y/Z) + Non-Practicing Allowance as applicable + Transport Allowance Rs.3,600 to 7,200 (city-based) + Dress Allowance Rs.20,000 per year + Dearness Allowance as per rates.

Selection Process:

Qualified candidates will proceed through the subsequent stages for the AFMS SSC Medical Officer Selection:-

• Shortlisting will be conducted based on NEET PG scores.
• An interview will be held by a Board of Officers in November 2025 in Delhi to assess suitability and merit.
• A Special Medical Examination will be carried out by DGAFMS to determine physical and medical fitness.
• A merit list will be compiled for those achieving a minimum of 50% in the interview and successfully passing the medical evaluations.
