The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is currently accepting online applications from qualified individuals for the Junior Residents positions for the January 2026 session. The position is available in various specialties at level 10 of the pay matrix (pre-revised pay band-3, Rs.15,600/- + 5400/-(GP)), with an entry salary of Rs.56,100 per month along with standard allowances as applicable. Interested and qualified candidates who wish to apply for this position may do so by December 19, 2025, at 5 pm. The position is available across various specialties at level 10 of the pay matrix.

Eligibility

Candidates must have successfully completed MBBS/BDS (including the Internship) or an equivalent degree recognized by MCI/DCI to be eligible for the position.

Only those candidates who have completed MBBS/BDS (including Internship) no earlier than three years prior to the commencement of Junior Residency, specifically on January 1, 2026, will be taken into account. This means that individuals who have finished MBBS/BDS or an equivalent program (including the completion of residency) between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025, will be eligible for consideration.

DMC/DDC Registration is a prerequisite before joining, if selected.

Candidates who have previously joined Junior Residency at AIIMS and had their services terminated due to unauthorized absence or any other disciplinary reasons will be deemed ineligible.

For all eligible candidates, a maximum of three terms is permitted. Graduates from AIIMS will be given preferential consideration for post allocation. Candidates who have already completed three terms of Junior Residency, whether at AIIMS or elsewhere, will not be eligible for consideration.

Method of counselling

The Junior Residency positions will first be allocated to all MBBS graduates from AIIMS, New Delhi, who meet the aforementioned eligibility criteria. The merit list for MBBS graduates from AIIMS, New Delhi, will be determined based on their cumulative marks from the I, II, and final Professional examinations. Any Junior Resident positions that remain unfilled after allocation to MBBS graduates from AIIMS, New Delhi, will be offered to other candidates.

The merit order for these candidates (non-AIIMS, New Delhi MBBS graduates) will be based on the rank achieved in the INI-CET PG Entrance Examination for the January 2026 session. Candidates who do not participate in the INI-CET PG Entrance Examination for the January 2026 session will be ranked in merit after those who have taken the examination.
