The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is currently accepting applications for the 11th Food Analyst Examination (FAE) scheduled for 2025. Candidates who are interested and meet the eligibility criteria can visit the official FSSAI website for comprehensive information. The last date to complete the online application form is January 22, 2026. The examination will take place in Computer Based Test (CBT) format on March 8, 2026.
Essential educational qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in one of the following disciplines:

- Dairy Chemistry
- Agriculture Science
- Animal Science
- Fisheries Science
- Biotechnology
- Food safety
- Food Technology
- Food and Nutrition

The degree must be obtained from a university established by law in India or be an associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) through examination in the Food Analysts section conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India).
Eligibility criteria
Online applications are welcomed from candidates who possess the necessary educational qualifications along with 3 years of experience as stipulated in sub-rule (ii) of Rule 2.1.4 of the Food Safety and Standards (First Amendment) Rules, 2022.
Age limit
There is no upper age restriction for candidates wishing to take the 11th FAE 2025.
Application fee
Candidates must pay a fee of Rs.2,500 for the Computer Based Test (CBT) and Rs.5,000 (plus GST) for the practical examination. This fee must be paid online and is non-refundable.
