The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Advertisement No. 13/2025, which appeared in the Employment News on September 13, 2025. UPSC is inviting online applications from qualified Indian citizens for 213 positions, which include Medical Officers, Additional Government Advocate, Legal Advisers, Lecturers, and various other roles. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Additional Government Advocate: Law degree + 13 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Additional Legal Adviser: Law degree + 13 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Assistant Legal Adviser: Law degree + 7 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Assistant Government Advocate: Law degree + 7 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Deputy Government Advocate: Law degree + 10 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Deputy Legal Adviser: Law degree + 10 years of experience in the State Judicial Service.
  • Lecturer (Urdu): Postgraduate degree in Urdu along with a B.Ed.
  • Medical Officer: MBBS degree.
  • Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Assistant Director: Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Applied Anthropology, Statistics, Psychology, Geography, or Mathematics (with Statistics).

Age Limit:

  • Additional Government Advocate: 50 years (UR), 55 years (STs).
  • Additional Legal Adviser: 50 years (UR).
  • Assistant Legal Adviser: 40 years (UR/EWSs), 43 years (OBCs), 45 years (SCs/STs), 50 years (PwBDs).
  • Assistant Government Advocate: 40 years (UR).
  • Deputy Government Advocate: 50 years (UR).
  • Deputy Legal Adviser: 50 years (UR/EWSs), 53 years (OBCs), 55 years (SCs/STs), 56 years (PwBDs).
  • Lecturer (Urdu): 40 years (EWSs), 45 years (STs), 50 years (PwBDs).
  • Medical Officer: 40 years (UR/EWSs), 45 years (SCs/STs/ALC), 50 years (PwBDs).
  • Accounts Officer: 35 years (UR/EWSs), 40 years (STs/ALC), 45 years (PwBDs).
  • Assistant Director: 35 years (UR), 38 years (OBCs), 45 years (PwBDs).

Pay Scale:

  • Additional Government Advocate: Level 13
  • Additional Legal Adviser: Level 13
  • Assistant Legal Adviser: Level 11
  • Assistant Government Advocate: Level 11
  • Deputy Government Advocate: Level 12
  • Deputy Legal Adviser: Level 12
  • Lecturer (Urdu): Level 09
  • Medical Officer: Level 09
  • Accounts Officer: Level 08
  • Assistant Director: Level 10

Selection Process:

  • Interview or Recruitment Test (RT) followed by Interview.
  • Minimum Marks: UR/EWS: 50, OBC: 45, SC/ST/PwBD: 40 (out of 100 for Interview).
  • Shortlisting based on higher qualifications, experience, or RT (75:25 weightage for RT: Interview).

  • Payment Method: Through SBI cash, net banking, or Visa/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card/UP).
  • General/OBC/EWS: Rs.25/-
  • Exemption: Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from the fee.
